As has been the mark of the filmmaker, the film portrays the contrasts between values and expectations of different generations, as well as the repercussions of the failure of the so-called “American dream”: abandonment, inequality and violence. Even though it’s not at the level of his greatest works, this is a valuable addition to Eastwood’s filmography."
