"Nicholas Sparks is the owner of an infinite number of romantic stories always similar and with strangely similar characters, such as 'The Notebook', 'Safe Haven', 'A Walk to ' and 'The Choice'. In 'Dear John', one of the audience's favorites, there is not much really different in Sparks' narrative adapted for the big screen. We follow the story of a soldier on leave who falls madly in love with a beautiful and conservative college girl, with all the predictable unfolding of a plot like this. However, the good performances of Amanda Seyfried ('Mank') and Channing Tatum ('Magic Mike') help the movie to have some differential and be memorable in its ending."
